Vonwik TV works on every smart TV, but the way in depends on the TV’s system. Pick yours.
Android TV and Google TV (Sony, TCL, Hisense, Philips, Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV)
- Open the Google Play Store on the TV and install IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate.
- Choose Xtream Codes login and type the server URL with its port, your username and your password from the access email.
If the Play Store does not show a player in your region, install Downloader from the store and type vonwik.tv/smarters to get the APK, exactly as on a Firestick.
Samsung (Tizen)
- Open the Samsung app store on the TV and search for IBO Player or Smart IPTV. Samsung has no IPTV Smarters.
- Open the app. It shows a device ID (MAC) and a key.
- Add your playlist: IBO Player Pro customers send the ID to Vonwik for activation (half price on plans over one month). Other apps take the M3U link from your access email on their website.
LG (webOS)
Same as Samsung: the LG Content Store has IBO Player and Smart IPTV. Note the device ID from the app’s first screen and add your playlist through the app’s activation page.
Roku
Roku installs only apps from its own store, and it has no IPTV player. The workaround is a Fire TV Stick in a free HDMI port, or mirroring from an Android phone or AirPlay from an iPhone. Details: Vonwik on Roku.
Any TV: the Fire TV Stick route
When the TV store has no player, or the built-in app is slow, a Fire TV Stick (from about $30) in a spare HDMI port is the clean solution: it runs the Android player, gets updates, and moves with you to the next TV. Setup takes five minutes: Firestick guide.
Tips for a smooth picture on a TV
- Use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi; 2.4 GHz is the usual cause of buffering on 4K channels.
- In the player, set the decoder to hardware if the picture stutters.
- Turn off the TV’s motion smoothing for sports; it adds lag on live streams.
- Close the app completely after watching; TV apps left open for days use the stream slot of your plan.
